5 Top Things To Do In Sydney This February!

Posted on Posted in Australia, Blog

There’s nothing I love more than doing awesome things in our own city. I’ve been doing some investigation on what’s coming up this month and I’m happy to report there is a HEAP going on.

Here are my top picks for the next few weeks…

#1 RadLivin

Olivia and the guys from Don’t Tell Summer know what’s up. They are bringing this one day festival of all things rad to Sydney this month to help you get inspired and reinvigorated for the year ahead. Think inspirational speakers, music, rad photo opps (an IG heaven!) and the opportunity to mix with likeminded legends. Here’s what to expect from this event…

The purpose of #RadLivin is to inspire you to do what you would love to do now, rather than waiting for some point in the future. It’s a declaration to live an authentic, rad life. Whether that’s saying yes to going on an adventure that day, or to a dream that’s been sitting in your heart, it’s here as a reminder to do what you love, what completely excites you.

Picture it as a fun, inspiring conference, mixed with a rad, laid-back festival.

Sounds like something The Freedom Travellers wanna be a part of. Totally in for this one!

Deets: Takes place on Saturday 20th February at the Project Space in Central Park. Head over to RadLivin.com to grab your tickets. See you there!

#2 The Stillness Project

Looking for a little more zen in your life? Look no further. Our buddy Tom Cronin has some of the best meditation courses on offer and the good news is, there’s one coming up in February! Winning.

I recently took part in Tom’s 1 Day Urban Retreat and I was blown away with how much I learned and was able to take away and put into every day life. Having attending quite a few of his Stillness in the City evenings I was compelled to develop my meditation practice further under Tom’s guidance. If you are looking for an awesome mentor who really cares about helping people make meditation a part of their life, Tom is your guy!

Not only that, but you’ll be seeing some seriously epic things from this guy in the next 12 months so take your chance to meet him and learn from him now.

Deets:  Learn to meditate in person with Tom, February 13th and 14th, 11am-2.30pm both days in Bondi. Book your place here.

Australian Open of Surfing Manly Beach

#3 Australian Open of Surfing

I am particularly excited about this one as I’ve been lucky enough to become a part of the team that is putting this event on in 2016. The Australian Open of Surfing is a completely FREE surf, skate, music and art festival on Manly Beach.

This year, you can see Mansionair, Kita Alexander, Cloud Control AND Angus and Julia Stone perform live gigs on the MTV Music stage on the last weekend of the event. Pretty cool huh?! Not only that, but you’ll also be able to get amongst all the surf and skate action as well as some seriously cool activations from all the event sponsors.

Word on the street is that there’s going to be some Instameets happening during the event too so for you budding influencers out there, get amongst it!

Deets: 27th February to 6th March, Manly Beach. Check out the event website for more info!

All you need is your picnic blankets, the one you love or a bunch of good buddies and you’ll be able to enjoy the live music, great entertainment, food & drink and the 16 incredible short films that will be aired that night.

With a degree in Brand Promotion & Journalism, Victoria loves the written word and as such is our resident writer. One of her fave things to do anytime of day is to enjoy a good breakfast accompanied by an equally good coffee.

Vic loves a good road trip where she can rock out to good tunes (and some not so good, ahem, Taylor Swift fan alert!). She’s a demon on the squash court and loves to scuba dive. One of her dreams is to cage dive with great white sharks…way outside her comfort zone! She loves to travel and has lived in five countries. Her plan is to add a few more to the list.
