There are SO many apps these days. Seems there is literally an app for anything! We definitely have our favourites and ones that we can’t live (or travel) without but there are others that are totally pointless. So, when we were introduced to a little app called Zusa we were thinking, okay, yet another ‘must have’ app. We’ll be the judge of that!
When it comes to travelling, there are definitely a few apps that make life a whole lot easier when you’re on the road. We especially love the apps that still work without a wifi connection, you’d think that everywhere these days would have wifi but that’s definitely not the case. Think photo editing apps and our most valued Google maps…because who knows what we did before Google maps!
So, what do we love about the latest app in our travelling arsenal? What’s special about Zusa?
Well, we decided to get set for Mardi Gras with Zusa! We’ll share our fave features about this app shortly but first, here’s an overview.
In their own words…
“Zusa empowers you to find businesses that speak your language, meet your cultural needs and suit your personal preferences. Whether you’re moving for study, work or just a change, Zusa will help you find your new local doctor, dentist, school or crowd.”
Pretty cool huh!?
As we move around so much, an app like this is super handy. We decided to put Zusa to the test in our home city of Sydney…here’s what we love about it!
Unlike other apps that allow you to rate local businesses, Zusa allows you to filter what you’re looking for by things like the language the staff speak, the crowd that hangs out there and if the place is LGBT friendly. Awesome and perfect for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras coming up this weekend in Sydney! This feature is particularly handy for non-English speaking visitors to Australia and for us when we are going overseas, definitely helpful to have a way of seeking out those friendly peeps who speak our lingo!
Search by business type
You’re new in town. Maybe you just moved here permanently or are visiting our great city for the first time. Sure, you’ll want to seek out the all-important stuff like the best coffee, restaurants and nightlife but there are other things you’ll need like gyms, currency exchange or even perhaps a doctor or a pharmacy. Well, Zusa has you covered with all of those things and more built in to the app. Simply select the type of business you want and it will show you where the nearest one is. Winning! You can also rate each place you visit to share your experience with other Zusa users.
Soon after downloading this free app, I quickly realised how simple and easy it was to use. There’s nothing worse than an app that promises the world but is hard to operate. As soon as you open it up, everything you need is right there. You have the ability to update the app with places you’ve been to as well so you really feel like you can help other peeps have a great experience in your city or wherever it is you’ve just visited. We are forever sharing travel advice so to be able to direct our community, you guys, to our profile on an app like this is really cool!
So there you have it, a crash course in LGBT friendly app, Zusa! Do you have apps that you just can’t live without? Let us know about them. We’re all about cool stuff that makes life easier. Hit us up in the comments below.
