Sydney (in our opinion!) is one of most beautiful cities in the world, especially when the sun is shining! You don’t have to drive far to be standing on a white sandy beach or sat in a sunny spot overlooking famous Sydney harbour. With so much great spots to choose from it makes sense to explore and enjoy a bevvy or two at some of the best water view bars the world has to offer!

Northern Beaches

Manly 16ft Skiff Club | Manly

This is one of our all time favourite bars to hit up when the weather is good. They have two keys components that make it a great. Cheap drinks and an awesome view! On a sunny day head out onto the deck and you’ll have breathtaking views of both Manly and Sydney Harbour. Keep your eyes peeled as some days you can see dolphins, turtles and maybe even a whale or two!

Getting There: From the CBD catch a ferry over from Circular Quay. From the jetty at Manly, turn right and it’s a 5 min walk along the water’s edge.

Located: Corner Stuart St and East Esplanade, Manly

Manly Wharf Hotel | Manly

If the sun is shining this place is guaranteed to draw a crowd! Located at Manly Wharf, it’s great for a cheeky drink, a bite to eat and finding a potential date ;). If you’re keen to get in some exercise before hitting the pub try the Spit to Manly walk. It’s a 10 km easy to moderate stroll through the scenic harbour side and stunning beaches plus, the walk conveniently ends at the Manly Wharf Hotel. What a way to replenish the fluids!

Getting There: If you’re going by public transport, catch the Manly ferry from the Circular Quay in the city. It’s a 30-minute trip with epic views of the harbour, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Sydney City

Opera Bar | Sydney

After a busy day of sightseeing or a long hard day at work, the Opera Bar is the perfect place to unwind. Situated right smack bang on Sydney Harbour, this is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of bubbles and a cheese board while watching the sun set over the Harbour. Make sure to have your camera ready as you’ll want to take a happy snap or two, or maybe a few token selfies! Bonus Tip: At the weekend they have live music, get there early to bag a good spot!

The Glenmore Hotel | The Rocks 

The Rocks is a cool place to be on a sunny day. There’s always a buzz in the air, and lots to see and do such as shopping at the famous Rocks Markets. When you’re all shopped out and ready for a cold drink, take a stroll over to the Glenmore Hotel and head straight up to their rooftop bar. We love this place when the weather’s good as the rooftop overlooks Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay. You can also get a pretty good feed here too, perfect if you want to stay a few hours!

Eastern Suburbs

North Bondi RSL Club | North Bondi 

If you’re looking for some cheap beers in Bondi with one of the best views in the Eastern Suburbs then head to North Bondi RSL. Their balcony overlooks the beach with picture-perfect views. This place gets packed out on a Wednesday night…$10 Steak Night!

The Bucket List | Bondi Beach

This is the place for sundowners in Bondi. Just off the beach, this indoor/outdoor bar has a cool vibe and the clientele to match. Bring your crew, enjoy a few cold ones and watch the waves while listening to some chilled beats.

Located: The Bondi Pavilion, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach

Coogee Pavilion | Coogee

Recently renovated, this beachside bar and restaurant definitely draws a crowd. After a hard day relaxing on Coogee Beach you’ll be ready for a night out and this place caters for everyone. Downstairs has more of a relaxed feel with a choice of pizzas, coffee, bar food and even a games area. Upstairs you’ll find the Rooftop Bar and epic views of the beach, a great place to watch the sun go down. The Rooftop is casual during the day and gets super trendy at night.
