From iconic landmarks visited by millions every week to hidden gems known by the locals only, there is no shortage of amazing places to visit in the city that never sleeps.

But, since there are so many places to check out in NYC, how does one start? That is, where does one start?  Fear not – we are here to help you. Here’s our list of 5 epic places in NYC that should be on everyone’s bucket list. Whether you decide to pick just one place out of this list or all five of them, be sure that you will have an amazing and unforgettable time in the Big Apple.

1. Central Park

We cannot talk about the most epic places in NYC that should be on everyone’s bucket list without mentioning the one and only Central Park. This is the most loved space (loved by all New Yorkers) in the heart of Manhattan. The park is 843 acres long, and there, besides all the green areas which you can use for pretty much any sport and any recreational activity, you can also find numerous landmarks, including Bethesda Fountain, Strawberry Fields, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Central Park is an amazing place to visit as a senior, a family, a student, a couple, or a businessman. There truly is something for everybody here. And, the best part is – most of the things here are free. During the weekend, you can participate in free yoga or meditation classes, art or sculpting courses, or some sporting events such as volleyball, basketball, football, tennis, etc.

2. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

On the eastern edge of Central Park, you can find The Metropolitan Museum of Art (also known as the Met). This is one of the largest and the most influential museums not only in NYC, and not only in the USA, but in the entire world! The museum houses over 2 million works of art spanning 5,000 years of world history. From ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary masterpieces, the Met has something for every art lover on this planet. And, that is why this is one of the most epic NYC places that should be on everybody’s wish list.

Moreover, the Met is located in the center of Manhattan – a perfect place for buying an apartment if you are somebody who wants to see and, of course, who wants to be seen. Thus, if you have the time (and, preferably, if you know a good realtor) stroll through the borough. And, if you find a home you like, simply reach out to your neighbors, that is to your movers. Professional NYC movers can help you move and settle in no time.

3. The High Line

Not a lot of people have heard about the High Line. But, let that be the reason for you to visit it until it gets overcrowded with tourists. The High Line is a public park built on an abandoned elevated railroad track on the west side of Manhattan. The park stretches from the Meatpacking District to 34th Street and offers stunning views of the city and the Hudson River and that is why it is one of the most epic places that should be on everyone’s wish list.

Just visiting this area and enjoying all the views it offers is one of the most unique things to do in NYC. But, if you want some other activities to try here, well, you can always hike, bike, have a picnic, have a romantic date, check out the artists and their exhibits, participate in public events, etc.

4. Times Square

While you are walking through Manhattan, either to enjoy all of its beauties or to find a moving agency such as U. Santini Moving and Storage New York to give some peace of moving advice (as previously mentioned), spare some time to visit Times Square as well. This is a bustling commercial intersection and a popular tourist destination in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Times Square is known for its iconic billboards, theaters, and shopping – a lot of shopping. It is also the site of the annual New Year’s Eve ball drop – so, if you don’t know where to go this New Year’s Eve, consider checking Times Square out.

While you are here, you can also see a Broadway show – from classics to contemporary plays, there is something for everybody to watch here. And, if you want to rest and enjoy all the beauties of New York City, you can also dine at a rooftop restaurant – there are several of these in Times Square.

5. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

C’mon, can you even go to the New York City and not see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. These two NYC’s iconic landmarks are located in New York Harbor and they are a must-see for any visitor (or expat). Ellis Island is a museum that tells the story of America’s immigrant heritage and the Statue of Liberty is one of the most iconic symbols of freedom.

You can reach both of these landmarks from lower Manhattan. But, you can see them from many charming NYC’s suburbs that will make you fall in love with the city and the state. Thus, don’t miss out on these.

These are just a few of the epic places in NYC that should be on everyone’s bucket list. The entire city is full of endless possibilities and has something for everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re interested in art, history, or just soaking up the vibrant energy of the city – NYC has you covered.
